An old inlay turquoise and coral Tibetan bead is the focal point of the tribal styled necklace! Silver toned beads, turquoise (dyed), red cinnabar beads, and little coral discs create a stunning combination.
I purchased the Tibetan bead and turquoise from the market in Bangkok, and I found the red cinnabar in a market in Shanghai.
This necklaces is about 17 inches (43 cm) long. Lobster clasp closure. The focal bead is 30 mm long.

These red cinnabar beads are wood carved to resemble the ancient Chinese cinnabar beads and pendants. Since true cinnabar is a highly toxic chemical, cinnabar items are now made either from resin or wood and carved to resemble the beautiful antique pieces. This traditional Chinese art, also known as Chinese lacquer, was created by painting multiple layers of lacquer onto an item, letting the item dry between each coat, and then carving the resulting layers of lacquer into beautiful patterns.
