This two-piece dress from the war years (the star gives it away (support the troops!) as does the short slim swing skirt), has some distinctive details!

The top is dart-fitted, with front button closing, jewel neckline with optional cadet collar, just-below-elbow length balloon sleeves gathered at shoulders and to your choice of sleeve bands or elastic in casings, and peplum gathered to waistline. Optionally trim peplum hemline with ribbon or bias trim. The 4-gore lightly flared skirt is dart-fitted at back waistline, has fitted waistband, and side snap closing (less metal, you know - support the war effort!).

Now if you could get that smart little hat to go with the outfit..... oooh la!
