Description

Brides and grooms-to-be, especially those from New York City, do you have wedding invitations to mail in the United States? Here are enough unused vintage postage stamps in a New York City theme to mail 20 envelopes of over one ounce and not over two ounces each, at the NEW 71-cent rate (50 cents for the first ounce + 21 cents for the additional ounce, as of January 21, 2018).

An historic scene of lower Manhattan in the late 1700s on one stamp marks the 200th anniversary of New York statehood. The 100th anniversary of the Statue of Liberty is honored on another stamp. The little red stamp shows a map of the New York boroughs to mark the 50th anniversary of city government. The tiny planes on the stamp are because it was an airmail stamp - airmail only cost five cents postage back in 1948! The LOVE series stamp has the word repeated with a rainbow of different colors of hearts for the letter "V".

Each of the 20 sets in this Limited Edition listing contains 72 cents of postage: 1 twenty-five, 1 twenty-two, 1 twenty, and 1 five cent stamps. You’ll receive in total:

- 20 New York State bicentennial, historic Manhattan scene, 25-cent (1988)
- 20 Statue of Liberty centennial, 22-cent (1986)
- 20 LOVE with hearts for letter V, 20-cent (1984)
- 20 New York City government 50th anniversary, 5-cent (1948)

The photos show the beautiful stamps that you will receive by your purchase of this listing. The last photo is of one set on a large white envelope from a wedding invitation (8-3/4 by 5-3/4 inches.). Please click here to see the other two-ounce stamp combinations in my shop at the moment:

Shipping policies

I typically ship through the US Postal Service using First Class Mail envelopes. Unused vintage postage stamps will be wrapped in plastic wrap, placed in a labeled envelope detailing the contents of the stamp combo, and mailed with a thin cardboard insert in a second envelope.

Combined shipping discounts are available from flowersbyljp. Most of my postage stamp sets are listed in batches of 10 (for one-ounce mail) or 20 (for postcard mail or two-ounce mail). Shipping costs via USPS First Class mail envelope for postcard postage and one-ounce envelope postage listings would be $1.50 for the first batch, and 25 cents each for extra batches. For two-ounce envelope postage listings, the first batch ships for $2.00 and additional batches cost 50 cents each to ship.

Shipping method upgrades to USPS Priority, USPS Express mail, or FedEx Express Standard Overnight delivery are available for an extra charge - please see this section of my shop:
