This little W. S. George American China 6 1/4 inch (158 mm) dessert plate is in the Derwood shape, pattern #9138 (it was the internet that told me that Derwood is a shape and the number is a pattern number, so, with blind faith, I assume that’s correct). The plate is white with little pink roses, with blue flowers in a sort of swag; its a lovely pastel. The plate is not crazed, but it has scratches from having lots of yummy desserts eaten off of it. There is wear in the pattern, and quite a bit of wear on the gold rim. There is one little chip on the underside (see photo)

If you don’t like a buffet table furnished with all of the different and wonderful vintage dessert plates you’ve found over the years; or if you don’t have other pattern 9138 dishes looking for a dessert plate; this little dear is just right as a soap dish in a bathroom or kitchen with pink roses in its wallpaper or on its towels.
