Description

Choker Necklace: Vintage German Iridescent White Wavy 2-Holed Glass Beads, Iridescent White Czech Glass Oval Beads, and Sterling Silver Filigree Box Clasp

Condition: both vintage and new components are in excellent condition

Measurements: the choker is 16" long by 3/4" wide (41 cm x 2 cm)

Most vintage German glass available today is pre-World War II and is difficult to find in good condition, but these wavy iridescent white beads are NOS (new old stock), meaning that after manufacture they were warehoused and never sold, waiting to be discovered at some later date.* Their softly undulating shape was what first caught my eye, but I hesitated because there was only one strand of beads--more than enough for a bracelet but perhaps not enough for a necklace. Ultimately, I decided to buy them--who knows if I would see them again? Once home, I found some iridescent white Czech glass oval beads that were a great match, so I used them as spacers between the German glass "waves" to form a smooth, sleek choker. Although made with vintage beads, this necklace has a clean, contemporary look and would beautifully complement clothing designed with the same aesthetic.

*Lucky for me and for the person to whom this choker is meant to belong!

FAQs

Handmade jewelry should be treated gently: do not shower or go swimming while wearing; polish with a soft damp cloth or a silver-polishing cloth; keep in a cool, dry place such as a soft bag or lined box; do not hang necklaces or bracelets--their weight can cause stringing materials to stretch or connecting rings to pull open. If damage does occur, please contact me to discuss repair or replacement.
Please treat temari with respect. Have clean hands when touching them, keep them out of direct sunlight, and display or store them in a dust-free area (or dust off gently as needed). If temari get wet, colors may run; do not scrub threads as they may break. If necessary, please contact me to discuss repair or replacement.
If components of my jewelry have broken due to a flaw in the components or in my construction, I will be happy to make repairs at no charge to you (including return shipping), assuming that I still have the same components available. If they are not available, I will contact you to discuss options for the repair.
For all other reasons for repair, I still will be happy to do whatever I can, usually for a small fee, and assuming that I have the materials required. Buyer is responsible for cost of repair, shipping, and insurance charges.
As for temari, minor thread replacement may be possible depending upon design, location, and availability of thread. Buyer is responsible for cost of repair, shipping, and insurance charges.
