How do I purchase one of your dolls?
I sell my unique Tree Change Dolls® exclusively through my Etsy shop . I generally post a new group of dolls for sale on the first Wednesday of every month. For the exact time of sale, please check my facebook page as I post regular updates there. Or subscribe to join my mailing list and receive monthly sale reminders - just send me a message through Etsy with your email address included!
In order to purchase a doll, you need to create an Etsy account. Each month my group of dolls sells out very quickly! (sometimes within ten minutes.) To make a successful purchase, you will need to be logged into your Etsy account at the sale time, with all your shipping details and credit card details pre-entered into Etsy. Keep refreshing your browser and be aware that the purchase is not complete when you merely have the item in your cart, you need to quickly go through the checkout to have the order completed. I ship worldwide and shipping cost from your country is displayed when selected at checkout.
Why do your dolls sell out so fast?
When I started Tree Change Dolls in 2015, my story went viral! People around the world were amazed by my doll transformations! I now have nearly 500,000 Facebook likes, and a loyal base of followers. I am just one artist, so I can only create a limited number of dolls and they are in high demand.
Can I pre-order a doll? Can you make a doll to look like my daughter/ child/ sister/ niece?
I do not take any pre-orders or custom orders at this point. However, each month I create a selection of different unique dolls, and you may be lucky to find one that looks like you, or someone you know! Otherwise, why not try yourself? I encourage others to get creative and have a go at recycling some used dolls with their children. What are the prices for your dolls?
I price my dolls individually. The price for one doll ranges from $150-300 Australian Dollars per doll depending on the amount of work that my mother and I put into them and the clothes and accessories included with each doll - and sometimes also how much it’s worth to part with them!
As I alone cannot meet the world-wide demand for my dolls, I also encourage others to get creative and try doll-restyling for themselves. For all my DIY information and resources please go to my DIY page. (www.treechangedolls.tumblr.com/diy)
Do you sell doll clothes separately?
Sometimes. When I have time to sew extra doll clothing, I make these items available in my Etsy shop. My mum designs and makes some of the clothes for my Tree Change Dolls. Just as I can only paint and re-style a limited number of dolls, she and I can only produce a limited amount of dolls clothes.
For those keen to get crafty themselves, I also sell sewing, knitting and crochet patterns for many of the Tree Change Dolls clothes. These patterns are created by my amazing mum Silvia and can be purchased from my TreeChangeDolls Etsy shop.
Do you sell your dolls for charity?
For every doll I have ever sold I have donated a portion of the profits to charity. I currently donate 10% of every doll sale to a charity of my choice.

Save the Children
Greening Australia
Plan International Australia.
What does the name Tree Change Dolls mean?
A ‘treechange’ is a term in Australia that means moving from the city to the country for a more relaxed and down to earth lifestyle. It is actually a derivation of the original term ‘seachange’ (also the name of a popular Australian TV show in the early 2000s) which meant moving from a bustling city life to a small seaside town for a more relaxed and down to earth lifestyle. When I started doing these dolls and John persuaded me to put them online we threw a few different names around but decided that Tree Change Dolls was the best fit. Seems to have stuck!
What paints do you use to repaint the dolls?
I started using Jo Sonja’s artist acrylics paint which I already had and these are great paints to start with as they are readily available and easy to use. I am now using Viponds Tautflex paints which are specifically formulated for painting on a vinyl surface (which most doll heads are made from). What type of brush do you use?

I have some dolls I would like to give you, do you accept doll donations?
If you have a bunch of plastic dolls I could use (Bratz dolls, moxie dolls, Wee 3 Friends, little Kelly or Chelsea dolls) and you wish to donate them for re-styling, my mailing address is: Tree Change Dolls, PO Box 91, Blackmans Bay, TAS 7052, Australia
Please be aware I do not give away re-styled dolls in exchange for donations. I also do not use porcelain dolls, or dolls with unnatural colours of skin and hair (eg monster high dolls).
Can I do this myself?
I encourage others to recycle and upcylce old dolls and toys. Do it yourself, with friends, with children and others in your family! There are so many plastic dolls already made that could still be played with and could inspire the creative minds of children with a little attention and creativity. Plastic toys will be around for hundreds of years. Much better they are being played with than in landfill.
Are you going to start producing your own range of dolls for stores?
I believe in recycling. I love the joy of transforming a discarded item into a toy to be loved and treasured. Instead of mass producing factory-made dolls, I am encouraging and helping others to reuse, repair, recycle and upcycle old dolls and toys by providing guides, patterns and tutorials. Can I sell my own re-styled dolls?
I share my DIY tips and videos so that children and their families can enjoy the creative fun of re-styling their old dolls. However, if you are going to try selling your own re-styled dolls I simply ask that you respect my intellectual property rights and do not infringe on my trademark name Tree Change Dolls®. My trademark guidelines are as follows:
Trademark Guidelines
I ask that you do not use the name Tree Change Dolls® or use the name Sonia Singh in relation to the dolls or any other items you are selling, in any way. Sellers may not state that their work is ‘inspired by’ Tree Change Dolls. This name is my registered trademark, to be used only by me unless I have given you licence to use it.
This includes in the listings or descriptions of your own dolls, dolls clothes or other toys, games and accessories, printed materials, patterns or stationary.
I also ask that you do not use the words Tree Change Dolls or Tree Change Doll as tags or hashtags for your own products or dolls, even if you have used the words tree, change and doll in three separate tags. This also constitutes trademark infringement. This can also result in brand confusion. I have received several complaints from people who mistakenly thought they were buying from me, so please make sure your customers understand what they are buying and who is selling.
