Description

So you want to learn brush calligraphy? Maybe you’ve watched from a distance, putting off learning for “the right time.” Or maybe, after multiple failed attempts, you’ve given up on your dream of ever learning. Or perhaps you’ve already begun your journey, but you’re ready to take it to the next level. Regardless of your starting point, if you’re ready to fall in love with the art of brush calligraphy, this kit is for you.

The 52 page booklet, written by Amanda Houston, begins with an introduction to terminology and takes you through the basic strokes used in a modern calligraphy brush script style. The first section focuses on basic strokes, with space to trace and follow along the examples within the booklet. It then transitions to a full upper and lowercase alphabet with traceable examples and plenty of space to practice within the booklet. By the time you’ve completed this booklet, you will be fully immersed in the world of modern brush calligraphy, and should be ready to create beautiful art of your own!

The entire booklet is made up of a smooth, silk paper, that is meant to preserve the life of your brush pens. It is saddle stitched, so you can easily write within the booklet, or lay it flat to use tracing paper over the examples provided.

Along with the book, you will receive the following:

-Pentel Sign Brush Pen
-Tombow Dual Brush Pen

(Please note: the content regarding brush lettering is the same in this booklet and the Modern Calligraphy: From Brush to Nib booklet. Therefore, ordering both is not encouraged, unless you're gifting it to a friend :) )
