Fine Silver Loop-in-Loop Choker Chain Statement Necklace with a Pyrite-in-Hematite Sterling Silver, reversed tear-drop Pendant; this type of wire chain work is also known as Etruscan and Roman Chains. This entirely Handmade Fine Silver Loop in Loop Roman Etruscan Chain Necklace comes with a reversed teardrop Pyrite-in-Hematite Pendant. The Pendant is easily removable, so that the Chain can be worn alone as shown. The Choker chain is 14-1/2".

The Pyrite-in-Hematite Gemstone I have set in this hand fabricated Sterling Silver Pendant, is very unusual, and is the only one of its type I have ever seen.

While this stone was not hand-cut and polished by me, it was made by a Lapidary here in the United States by hand. The ends of the chain are set in Sterling Silver cups, with an hand forged "S" hook, all fabricated by me. The chain necklace is 14-1/2", suitable for someone with a slender neck. The Pendant measures 55mm x22mm, or 2-1/4" including the bale x 7/8".

The Fine Silver, Double-Triple, Loop-in-Loop Necklace Chain has been fabricated by me from Fine Silver Wire. (See below for the fabrication process.) Double-Triple chains are made on a base of two, three loop sets, each new loop is passed through the previous two loops under it, (this is why it is called a loop-in-loop chain, and dates back to ancient times) and is called, by some, an Etruscan Chain. There are many variations, some of which you will see, if you check back to my site from time-to-time.

All of my loop-in-loop Etruscan Chains are available by special order, in different lengths and types.

Fabrication Process: I start out with Fine (pure) silver wire, (in this case, 22 ga.) and form it into various size rings. The rings are fused with a torch, which means the two cut ends are melted together. This makes a stronger connection than does soldering. The rings are then stretched into a long oval, if they are of a sufficiently good-quality joining. If the loops have not broken at this point, they are added to a collection for the piece to be made. When enough loops have been made for an item, one can begin, after having done whatever needs to be done in order to
sit for a good period undisturbed. It is best to complete whatever length chain you need at one sitting
