INSTANT DOWNLOAD Baby Cocoon and Pod Easy Knitting Pattern #101

PLEASE NOTE: This is a set of instructions, not the physical object. Once you have paid, you will receive an email with instructions for downloading your pattern pdf, along with 3 other files:
1) yarn and needle terminology and equivalents
2) how to make your own double-pointed needles
3) newborn photography and digital editing tips

Every baby photographer needs these!
If you have a baby, YOU are a baby photographer!

Also GREAT for swaddling newborns.

When my daughter had her second child, I developed this pattern with her in mind.

My grandson Jaren was 10 lb. in the first photo, so you can see that there is lots of room for a larger baby. He was so comfy and content in the soft warmth. He had a diaper on, so he was "safe" yet appeared to be in the natural.

I used the inexpensive Lion Homespun Acrylic Yarn for these, but you can use any chunky or bulky yarn you like, and it knits up very quickly.

You only need one circular needle and a large-eyed sewing needle to complete this, but a set of double-pointed needles is also handy at the end. A file about making your own is included. It is knit in the round, so you will be using the knit stitch all the way -- VERY EASY!

I have written this pattern with the novice in mind: Very thorough instructions and no abbreviations, and I am available for any advice you need via email. Literally hundreds of beginners have had success and gone on to making more props!

This is two patterns in one, because you will also learn how to make the bowl. That's the one pictured in the bottom photos. It is also possible to use the long cocoon as a bowl, if you roll it down.

Permission is written on the pattern for you to make as many of these trendy, practical garments as you like: for your own use, to give, OR TO SELL!!!

My son loved this pattern for his first unborn, and I adore the Very Hungry Caterpillar and knitting....so we mooched, paid, downloaded instantly and its a great little pattern with two colour ways for the wool used.
Unfotunately, I have no clue as to knitting in the round however....doesn't mean I cant learn.

Definately worth buying

Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
I accept credit cards, Etsy gift cards, and PayPal as instant payments.

If none of these work for you, I will also accept a US check or money order by mail.
I'm sorry, but no Canadian checks or money orders. The fees to process them cost more than their face value, usually.
