Vintage 1930s Needlework / Sewing / Knitting Magazine - embroidery, tatting etc
THE NEEDLEWOMAN January 1937 Vol. 15 No. 173
Plus the free embroidery transfer referred to on the cover

This magzine is brimming with vintage needlework, embroidery and knitting projects
Features instructions, patterns and period advertisements - also numerous black and white photographs and drawings for guidance
Specific projects: embroidered tablecloths and cushions, crocheted place mats, knitted jumper with crocheted cowl collar, embroidery details for baby clothes, and 'peasant' frock (as featured on cover). Also instructions on 'how to do' TATTING and a lesson in dressmaking (tunic coat)

Lots of highly inspirational projects! It was a very stylish, up-to-the-minute magazine in its day

** Please note that many of the embroidery projects refer to specific transfer patterns (or pre-printed fabric sets) which are NOT included in the magazine (although helpful charts are often provided for guidance - which could no doubt be adapted by the experienced embroiderer) **

36 pages (including cover)
Large format (approx. 9" x 12"). As a result, this magazine will be despatched in a large hard-backed envelope for protection

This magazine is in good condition with a few flaws. There is some staining to the edges of the front cover (please see photo) and to the top of the first page. All the pages are loose since this magazine does not have staples inserted. It clearly never had staples and left the printers in this state (presumably a printing error). Inscription on the front cover but no other inscriptions. No tears. The embroidery transfer is in good unused condition

Any questions, please feel free to ask

Apologies for the high shipping costs. This is a heavy magazine and will need to be well packaged in cardboard. I have estimated the shipping costs: any significant overcharge (after allowing a small amount for packaging costs) will be refunded. Please note that I offer a combined shipping discount, although it is difficult to calculate this discount accurately at time of listing (please refer to 'Shop Policies' for details)
