Description

This owl coin necklace was made using an authentic Greek, Drachma nickel brass coin, dated 1973. I cleaned, drilled and polished this coin. I hung this coin from a brass cable chain secured by a lobster clasp.

The owl was the symbol of goddess Athena in ancient Greece. Athena was patron of the crafts, wisdom and battle and became the patron goddess of the city of Athens. It is also considered good luck.

One side of the coin shows an owl, the symbol of the goddess Athena. The other side of the coin shows a Phoenix rising from its flames surrounded by the inscription meaning ‘Greek Democracy’ along with the date, 1973.

The coin you receive might not be this exact coin, but very similar.

The coin is made from nickel and brass and has a diameter of 3/4 inch (19mm). It hangs from a 24 inch (60.9cm) brass cable chain secured by a lobster clasp.

The chain can be shortened upon request.
