Description

Grow your vintage Mattel Hub-Bubs Happy Hollow play town with this still-new-in-box 1970s Comfy Cottage building No. 9305 that features Mrs. Cat on her “Home, Sweet Home” porch, rocking her baby kitten from side to side when you turn the crank.

This sweet little c1975 Happy Hollow add-on building has a 3” tall Mrs. Cat standing atop a cheery yellow faux stone porch flanked by blue walls and topped with a brown roof and chimney. Above Mrs. Cat’s head is a colorful paper label that reads, “Home, Sweet Home” and has a drawing of a flowerpot.

The two-sided gazebo-like building stands 6.3750” tall, is 4.75” wide (not including the blue crank handles that protrude from each side) and is 3.5” deep. Embossed on the front side of the building, which has an archway-style opening, is Mrs. Cat’s address: 324.

Mattel designed the buildings in its Hub-Bubs World of anthropomorphic animals to be joined together and still operate via the crank handles. In addition to add-on building sets like this one, the company created accessories like beds, stoves and benches “to complete the happy town!”

According to the side of the box, “Hub-Bubs animals run on imagination — not batteries!” And, in the hands of an imaginative preschooler, they almost come alive! … There’s a policeman bear, a fireman dog — even a mailman rabbit! Each one REALLY MOVES when you bump it up and down or put it in a house and turn the handle!”

This cute toy was purchased by an adult collector in the 1970s who bought numerous toys of the era, then packed them away for decades, only to be sold during her recent living estate auction. Most of the toys were stored very well but, unfortunately, the top of this toy’s original box took somewhat of a beating. The top is somewhat smooshed at its front corners, creating creases in the cardboard, as well as wrinkles and a small hole in its cellophane “window.”

Please use zoom mode to check out details in the photos, as they play an important role in the item’s description. And please don’t hesitate to convo me if you have questions about this item or would like to see more pictures before buying, as I want you to be 100% pleased with your purchase!

THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO THE SHOP'S "NO RETURNS" POLICY, CONSIDERED ON A CASE-BY-CASE BASIS ... please read on:

The items I offer are vintage/antique and typically show signs of wear consistent with age and use. I go above and beyond to research and describe each item and its condition thoroughly and accurately, and also include clear, detailed photos for your review. I'm proud to say that Third Floor Retro's feedback ratings reflect this attention to detail!

If you need more details or photos of an item prior to buying, please don’t hesitate to convo me. I’ll gladly answer any questions that may help you decide if an item is right for you. After all, I want you to be happy with your purchase! :)

I value great customer service — as both a buyer and a seller — and am committed to doing all I can to fix any issue that may arise. If the issue is anything other than a listing inaccuracy, you will be refunded the value of the item only (not the original or return shipping costs), minus a 20% restocking fee.

If by unfortunate chance your item arrives damaged due to shipper mistreatment, contact me within 24 hours of delivery. You’ll need to retain the item, shipping label, box, all interior packaging and take photos of the damaged item. A damage claim can't be filed without these items!

Shipping policies

Your item will be packaged with utmost care, using clean recycled items like bubble wrap and boxes when possible. Doing so reduces shipping costs and pleases Mother Nature. I’m confident you’ll be pleased when your package arrives!

I charge only actual shipping fees using primarily U.S. Post Office Priority Mail service, which has proven to be speedy and reliable (and automatically includes tracking and insurance up to $100). Large, heavy items are typically shipped via FedEx Home Delivery service.

Know that I have a great track record for getting orders shipped out within one business day (oftentimes within hours!) of payment confirmation.

If you’d like me to use a faster shipping service, a cheaper shipping method, to add insurance or arrange for signature confirmation please just convo me prior to shipping and I’ll gladly recalculate costs!

And combined shipping? For sure! If you don't convo me before buying, no problem: I promptly issue refunds for shipping overages of $2 and up.

All listed shipping prices are for the contiguous United States. Please convo for rates to Alaska, Hawaii and international destinations prior to purchase. Please bear in mind that international buyers are responsible for all customs duties, taxes, levies or fees — and that the shop is not responsible for delays due to customs.
