Description

In its day, this type of novel would be referred to as a romance. Myrtle Reed lived from 1874 to 1911 and became a famous journalist and author writing a number of novels and cookbooks.

The boards are vertically ribbed in mauve cloth with an extensive Art Nouveau Iris design by Margaret Armstrong in gold and white on the front and gold print on the spine. The corners, edges and top and bottom of spine are lightly bumped and worn. There is a 3/4" ink blot on the back and it is a bit soiled. The binding is good with light browning on the hinges. The pages are set up with black borders and print and red titles on each page. The top of the page edges are gilt; the other page edges are browned. There are very occasional dark brown spot on pages; otherwise the pages are clear and unmarked. It is in beautiful condition for its age. This edition is 315 pages and 8vo: over 7 3/4" - 9 3/4" tall in size.
