Written while John & Yoko were on honeymoon at the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, GIVE PEACE A CHANCE was recorded in Rm. 1742 from their bed (check out the label); the session was attended by dozens of journalists and celebrities and Lennon was joined on acoustic guitar by Tommy Smothers. The song was quickly adopted by Vietnam protesters as their anti-war anthem.

This ROCK CLOCK features the 1969 Apple label Give Peace A Chance 45 (most are on Capital). In lieu of clock numbers the hours are appointed by green painted metal discs from a vintage bracelet, the would-be numbers 4 thru 8 spell out “peace” in gold lettering, several gold peace signs added. Record in excellent condition, mounted on mirrored laser disc; clock is 13 inches in diameter.

John Lennon later stated his regrets about giving McCartney credit as his co-writer instead of Yoko Ono. Ouch.
