As I was exploring the back alleys and byways of Albuquerque a few years back I came across this rickety old wooden wagon abandoned next to a crumbling adobe gas station. The dust of the New Mexico desert had settled upon it for decades, the weeds were growing up around it and someone had placed a beat up, rusty oil drum right next to it. I began to wonder about it's history....
What journeys did this wagon take? What people and things did it carry? What twists and turns in it's life of service brought it to it's final resting place in a little alley, abandoned in the dry, hot desert sun....

Title: Abandoned Past
Image Size: 7" x 9"
Paper Size: 8" x 10"

**Camera and Film: This photo was taken with a Nikon FE 35ml camera using Kodak Professional 400 Black and White negative film. This IS NOT a digital image.

**Printing and Paper: I printed this photograph myself in a Professional Darkroom on certified Archival Ilford Multi-grade photographic paper with Pearl Surface (an "egg-shell" matte surface). This is a heavy weight fine art paper that feels substantial when you hold it, because it's not the light weight, flimsy photo paper you are probably used to handling from commercial digital photography prints. It feels REAL! :)
Also, my prints show considerably more detail than most computer monitors which usually don't accurately capture the color or contrast of the original photograph.

**Signed and Dated: Yes! And Titled, on the back. I can also Title, Sign and Date it on the front, in the white border area below the image, if you would like. Please leave a note in the "message to seller" upon checkout.

**Editions of this print: This is an Original in the sense that I print each one of these by hand with different exposure times in the darkroom so each "copy" of this photo will be totally unique and different than any other copy I will ever make.

Thank You for stopping in and looking!
Peace and smiles....Kristin

*´♥.• PLEASE NOTE: Your computer monitor may be Lighter or Darker, Blue, Red or Greener, More or Less Contrasty and/or Sharp than mine. Accordingly, there will ALWAYS be some difference between the image you see here on Etsy and the print you receive but I assure you, I do my UTMOST to make the picture on MY computer look as much like the Original as possible. ♥ ♥ CHARITY NOTE: This Beautiful Photograph is part of a series that I have established for Charity Donations to Adopt A Native Elder Program and here is what it's about:

"The Adopt-A-Native-Elder Program exists to create a Bridge of Hope between Native Americans and other cultures. It allows us to reach out to one another, share our gifts, and mend the broken circle of our relationship with the Land and the Native Americans who hold it in sacred trust. The Program supports the traditional Elders who live in the cultural and spiritual traditions of The Dine' People. Most live in remote portions of the Dine' (Navajo) reservation. Many live in traditional hogans, and some raise sheep as a means of maintaining themselves."

Accordingly,100% of the proceeds of your purchase will be Adopt A Native Elder Program to directly support the Navajo Elders, (this is after Etsy and Paypal fees). If you would like, I will email you the official donation receipt with unique donation ID # so you can be assured the donation was processed, (please leave me a message in the "Note to Seller" upon check out if you want me to do this). If you would like to read more about Adopt A Native Elder Program, here is their website:

With support from people like you, who want to own my Art and help support a Charity at the same time, I have already raised $640 as of this posting, January 4. 2014.
