This listing is for a Beautiful Vintage Ornate Moriage Dragonware Tea Set.

Dragonware is a form of moriage pottery made since the late 19th century. Moriage is a type of decoration on Japanese pottery. Raised designs are applied to the ware. Dragons are the major raised decorations on the moriage called dragonware. known as "Dragonware" due to the raised dragon reliefs. It was probably made in the Kutani region of Japan.

The Tea Pot spout and lid are of a dragon's head. Beautifully hand-crafted with gilt trimmings and enamel, trimmed heavily with white beading, and gold trimmed edge and accents.

This fabulous vintage set includes Creamer and Sugar Bowl. It's a superb set in near mint condition. I find no chips, nicks, etc.

Dragonware Tea Pot 7" tall to top of lid and 9 1/2" across spout to handle.

Dragonware Creamer 6" tall by 7" wide handle to end of dragon spout. It looks like a smaller teapot.

Dragonware Sugar Bowl with Lid 6" tall to top of lid by 7" wide handle to handle.

If you enjoy traditional red and gold color patterns, this is truly a beautiful item and would be great for use or for display.

Thanks for visiting Auntie Linda's Attic. Have a great day!
