This little polished brown and gold stone looks so beautiful as you move it in the light, you really can’t photograph the shifting colors of a Tiger Eye. The stone is slightly over 15 mm long and slightly under 15 mm wide and a little less than 5 mm thick (just a little smaller than a scrabble tile). It’s being securely encircled by a gold wire. When this was part of a pair of earrings I always assumed that the wire surrounding the stone was gold, but now it seems to have darkened some, so I’m no longer sure, perhaps it's brass.

For those of you out there with your wonderful jewelry making skills, this is a beautiful little piece of raw material. Or use for clothing embellishment, or an collage, or, with its little bent gold wire that already holds it, it seems ready made for a mobile. Whatever you imagine can conjure up. On the photo, what looks like a little mark on the lower left corner of the stone is just a trick of the light. The stone is unmarred.
