This beautiful ceramic figurine measures 2 1\/2 x 1 3\/4 inches wide at the base and is 3 1\/2 inches tall. There are no chips, cracks or scratches. It's in great condition. After studying it for flaws, I found a very small one on the base. It is a small chip at the very bottom in the white part of the ceramic and is barely visible. You probably cannot see it in the photo . I'm actually not sure if it is a flaw or not, but I want to mention it in case.

There is one hummingbird - it is a ruby throated hummingbird. It has dark green wings, head and body, a white belly, and red under its neck. Its beak is light grey. It is perched on a branch, drinking from reddish-white trumpet vine flowers.

On the bottom there is a metallic silver stamp that says "Lefton China Hand Painted Humming Bird KW 464" and there is a unique crown-like symbol. I don't know what the symbol means, so you will have to look at the photo.

From doing research, here's what I found:

This piece is circa 1955 - 1965.
This is the smallest hummingbird figurine that Lefton China hand-painted.
It was originated by the Artists at the K. W. (Kowahara) Factory based on Audubon Bird Drawings. K. W. Factory was located was located in Japan.
