In excellent condition. As good for a night out swing dancing at it is for a sedate garden party.

The intricate design on the super soft fabric is both woven and printed. There are alternating light and dark harlequin diamonds with pale flowers printed all over the dress. Plus there is an unusual decorative weave going on – like broken raised stripes, all vertical.

Clever gathering makes the wearer look slimmer. There is almost no gathering right in front of the tummy (so no added bulk where we need it least) and gathers which are carefully sewn FLAT around the hips cover minor defects—again, without adding bulk. Why don’t they make them like this anymore?!

Because the palette is light, the impression is of subtle complexity. The colors are mainly pale golden pink, taupe and cream.

Piping around the neckline and waist adds a little definition.

Metal zipper. Label: Gay Gibson. Size 13. The old Union label is intact. But please go by the measurements, since vintage sizes bear little resemblance to today’s sizes.
