This tiny little abstract watercolor reminds me somehow of swirling water with its bright, clean, vivid blues. Makes a great pair with Blue Wave

The painting is made using a batik technique. First I draw the design with masking fluid (a kind of runny rubber cement) on watercolor paper. Then, when that's dry, I put down a background color in watercolor. While that's wet, I add other colors and allow the paint to bleed, forming interesting patterns and colors. After it's all dry, I peel off the masking fluid, exposing the white of the paper.

The painting is 2.75 x 2.75 inches in a 5x5 off-white mat.
