Dimensions

Necklace length: 20 Inches; Pendant height: 2 5/8 Inches; Pendant width: 1 1/2 Inches

This necklace features a fabulous banded (fortification) agate of subtle blues and pale to deep grays, paired with a deep blue and gray piece of Lapis Lazuli. This banded agate has a high amount of chalcedony, giving the stone a high level of hardness, and allowing for an intense polish. Lapis comes primarily from Afghanistan, and has been treasured through antiquity for its deep blue hue, sometimes referred to as the stone of the gods, going back 6,500 years! I chose to set both cabochons in scalloped sterling silver bezel, backed and enhanced with 24 gauge sterling silver sheet. I coiled half round sterling silver to create the hanger, and to allow Sarah to easily run the beads through. The beads include a variety of pale and deeper blues to pull out the blues of the centerpiece. These include large Lapis Lazuli rectangles, blue lace agate, Kyanite, blue agate, cultured pearls, Swarovski crystal, gunmetal pewter coins, and Czech glass. There are multiple shapes and sizes of sterling silver spacer beads, and large sterling silver focal beads to add sparkle to the necklace. The sterling silver clasp is a hook and loop style, easy to install. This piece is 20 inches long, and the pendant centerpiece is 2 5/8 inches long, by 1 1/2 inches wide. This rich, elegant necklace will go well in both formal and casual settings, and sure to be a conversation piece!
