This teacup and saucer set was imported about thirty years ago, when the factory that made them was closing. This level of texturing, and lavish decoration is not seen much in today’s production. The footed cup has fluting along the bowl, as well as on the handle. Very generous full gold foot. The handle is traced, with gold cap, as well as the rim of both the cup and saucer. Nice translucent ware. The design is for “All Anniversaries”. On the front of the cup it has “One-Cotton, Two-Paper” and so on through twelve. The theme is continued on the back. The inside of the cup has “Happy Anniversary”, and around the saucer is written “For Better, For Worse”, etc. All of this embellished with a very elegant and delicate hearts, lovebirds, and flowers motif. Although this is in new condition, it is really a relic from Staffordshire’s past tradition of extremely elegant Bone China production. The equally elaborate backstamp reads “By appointment to H.M. the Queen-- China Potters -PARAGON China Ltd., Stoke-on-Trent, Made in England”. This is a standard size set, with the saucer being about 5 ½” across. Buyer pays $6.50 for USPS Priority shipping in the USA. Buyers from other areas, please request a quote.
