LE Smith Peacock Blue Glass Pedestal Bowl, MCM Swung Vase, Scalloped Edge

Here is an iconic mid century modern (MCM), peacock blue swung compote/pedestal bowl from renown mid-mod glassmaker LE Smith. It has the loose scalloped, ruffled edges typical of handblown swung glass pieces crafted in an eye-catching, brilliant peacock blue. The pedestal base adds a touch of glamour to this statement piece of art glass. As with any handblown glass piece, each piece is unique. The bubbles and inclusions in the glass are part of the bowl's character. This footed bowl would make a great centerpiece for a dining room, a fruit bowl in the kitchen, or bath bombs next to the bathtub. Or, use it like I've shown here: to hold your favorite collection of seashells or glass orbs. The shape and color of the piece make it striking enough to even stand on its own without need for further adornment.

The pedestal bowl measures approximately 7.25" tall x 8" wide (across the top).
The condition is great—no chips, cracks or fleabites. As previously noted, the handblown glass bowl has a couple of surface-reaching inclusions on the inside of the bowl and a few bubbles. These are characteristics that are common and inherent attributes in handblown glass. See photos 8 and 9 for closeups.

I always encourage buyers to view the photos carefully and zoom in for best indication of condition. Any props used in the styling of this item do not come with it.
