KECHENENY fish rubbings start with a fresh (real) fish, Japanese Rice paper, and a special "Sumi-e" ink. The fish is cleaned, inked, and placed on a clean surface. Then with a rubbing tool and the artist's hands, the paper is gently pressed down onto the fish. The action is careful and deliberate, paying close attention to the countour of the fish, its fins, and most importantly the details of the head. The paper is then carefully removed, revealing the unique beauty of the fish which has now been captured on the rice paper. When the rubbing session is over, the fish is prepared for the frying pan or fish chowder. Nothing is wasted.

Sport fishermen and others find them interesting, unique, and very attractive. Some purchase them for themselves, while others purchase them as gifts, for that special fly fishing angler who has everything and is difficult to buy for. Then there are the fishing clubs and organizations which find them attractive for their fund raising activities and tournament prizes. They are very attractive when viewed in Seafood restaurants . These beautiful prints are a truly unique and interesting gift suitable for all occasions.
