A breathtaking Victorian Silver locket, hallmarked for the year 1879. The quality, condition and craftmanship are all incredible and it is a sturdy piece with a great weight. The locket is incredibly detailed, with a Swallow in flight to one side souring over mountains, sea and trees. To the other side is a beautiful bouquet of flowers surrounded by a frilled engraved border. Swallows were a symbol of love used in the Victorian era, symbolising love and loyalty as the birds mate for life.
