Victor Vasarely (1906–1997) – El Llano, 1956

Original Signed & Numbered Screenprint – Rare Limited Edition of 130

Artwork Description:
An authentic screenprint in colors by Victor Vasarely, the Hungarian–French artist acclaimed as the founder of Op Art (Optical Art). Created in 1956, El Llano is part of Vasarely’s highly sought-after early works, where he refined his language of geometric abstraction and optical effects that would define postwar avant-garde art.

The composition reflects Vasarely’s exploration of rhythm, movement, and perception through precise arrangements of form and color. His works from this period demonstrate a balance between rigorous structure and vibrant visual dynamism, making them cornerstone pieces in the history of 20th-century abstraction.

Printed on colored Bristol San Francisco paper, this edition was included in the historically important portfolio “Guillermo Moses, Venezuela”, published by Editions Denise René, Paris in 1956. Galerie Denise René was central in introducing Op Art and kinetic art to the world, and her collaboration with Vasarely represents a key chapter in modern art history.
