This vintage cocktail dress is heavily covered in sparkling black sequins. The long sleeved dress is a gorgeous example of early 1950s designer couture.

------------

Made by Mattie Talmack under his own label, Talmack
New York. M.T. began his career at Sheila Lynn, another
New York design house. In 1953, Talmack was honored
with an award for his noteworthy contribution to fashion.

A favorite at Vogue Magazine, Talmack's gowns graced
the pages often. His sequin dresses retailed
for $1300+ even in the mid-1960s.

After becoming established in the fashion world,
Talmack went on to mentor a number of other designers
who would create garments for the house before
moving on to lines of their own.

------------

Vintage condition: Excellent / Very Good ( there is one small tear at the bottom hem of the dress, about an inch in size; this could be repaired by a seamstress who is familiar with working with sequined garments, such as someone who tailors wedding dresses. )
Maker: Talmack of New York

------------

Fits like: Small / Medium
Bust: 34"/36"
Waist: 24"
Back shoulders: 15"
Sleeve length: 22.5"
Length: 48"
* This dress should NOT be dry cleaned; it would
ruin the sequins.
