Description

This belt is modeled by my CED, Calais, and is a bit loose on her 6" waist, even over a skirt with a thick elsatic waistband. Without the waistband, or on a doll with a slightly smaller waist, it hangs more like a hip or ammo belt.

The belt itself is made of heavy herringbone fabric with antiqued brass riveted loops and faux snaps. The color is an army green, and it's fastened with velcro.

I've attached swags of vintage copper chain with little brass hearts which surround and suspend vintage guilloche enameled copper butterflies, one in blues and purples, the other in reds and yellows. On Cal's right hip is a spray of blue and pink lucite leaves and catseye beads strung on sterling pins and chain, to which I've attached a mirrored scrying ball revolving in a gold-colored frame (vintage and upcycled from some forgotten piece of jewelry). Sweet feminine steam punk chic and no mistake!

Does Cal see the future in that ball? She's not telling, but she is looking, as you can see in the photos.

Because etsy does not have adequate categories for BJDs, art dolls, and other adult toys/collectibles, I have listed this belt in doll clothing, but it is not a toy -- it's meant for adult collectors. But not for them to wear -- it's doll sized. Aside from CEDs it would work well for MSDs and similar-bodied 16 inch dolls, probably most Tonners except tinies, and some older fashion dolls like Toni or possibly Cissy.

And by the way, I am selling only the belt and what's attached to it. Cal, her clothing, and any props are not included.

This piece should be fine under normal wearing conditions. I would, however, keep it outside car shoulder belts, away from animals and small children, and out of bathtubs and swimming pools.

Payments

Secure options
  • Accepts Etsy Gift Cards and Etsy Credits
Etsy keeps your payment information secure. Etsy shops never receive your credit card information.
We accept paypal, credit cards, and personal checks. Paypal or a card will get your stuff there faster, since items paid by check aren't mailed until the check arrives and clears.
We normally ship by first class mail with a tracking number once a week, sometimes more often, as soon as possible after orders are paid for and packaged, but because of our location there may be a few days' delay in getting to the P.O., especially in stormy weather. We also insure all items over $50- in the US, but can't track or insure packages going to most international destinations.

Returns & exchanges

If your item arrives broken or damaged, I will refund the price, including shipping & handling, when it is returned or when you send me a photo clearly showing the damage. You can also return the item to be repaired or replaced, or, if it cost $50- or more, collect the insurance from the PO.

I will also give store credit for returns for any other reason as long as you let me know immediately that the item won't work for you and return it promptly--within 10 days in the US, and a negotiated time from other countries. You pay shipping and of course it needs to arrive in the condition in which it left the shop.

Shipping policies

PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING ME TO REDUCE SHIPPING AND HANDLING!!
I've been asked recently by a couple of new customers interested in buying one item whether I would lower my first item shipping costs for them. The answer is no--it wouldn't be fair to my other customers, especially those buying more and/or repeatedly, and it would be a loss to me.

Here's the deal with shipping: the first item charge covers packing materials, my cost for getting the packing materials, going to the PO--gas, oil, wear & tear on my car, and time.

April 2016 I AM VERY SORRY TO HAVE TO RAISE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING COSTS.
I took a 1/2 oz package to the PO this week and they charged almost $10- more than I'd paid previously! I'm keeping it as low as I can by sourcing less expensive (but still sturdy) packaging, etc., but I can't control the PO!
I will try to sort out rates for different countries-- they are listed in numbered categories-- & reduce for those not at the higher end, but I just ate $9- in shipping on a tiny package & can't afford to keep doing that. If you think your country is less expensive and I haven't redone this, ask me & I'll check and change if possible.

Additional items are much less because all of that except the actual cost of packing materials, additional postage, and a little bit of time is already covered.

I could build some of this into my prices, as many sellers do to make S&H lower, but I choose to keep my prices low and make S&H realistic and much cheaper for additional items--if I built it into the price it would cost more for each purchase rather than just the first one.
