We most always list items with actual measurements and not sizes because there is such a variance between vintage clothing and today's "vanity sizing". Vintage clothing typically runs much smaller than modern clothing, so keep in mind that your normal size may not fit in a vintage piece. Refer to the measurements included with each listing to ensure proper fit, and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.

If you want a tight fit, then choose an item the same as your measurements up to 1" bigger; this would be for strapless gowns, corsets, etc. A normal fit would be 2" larger than actual measurements and a loose fit 3" or more. This extra room is called "ease" and varies with each decade's style. It's also wise to make sure you are measuring with whatever undergarments you will be wearing; bras, tights and Spanx(!) because these can alter your measurements. When measuring yourself, please refer to the guide below: Bust/Chest – For women, measure around the fullest part of your bust. For men, the middle of the chest. Waist – Measure the circumference of your natural waist; the smallest part of your waist. Typically this is above your bellybutton and below your ribs. Hip – Standing straight, measure around the widest part of your hips, including your bottom. Inseam – Measure from the crotch to the ankle, along the inside of the leg.
