This is an 8x10 Photo print of my Hekate Barbie Goddess sculpture. Hekate is one of a nine part series of barbie Goddess Sculptures I created.

The print comes in a photo safe envelope ready for your frame. The complete photograph is shown. The watermark will not be in your print.

Size: 8x10

Hekate likes to live on the edge. She is the goddess of crossroads, triple-faced to see all possible outcomes, and of transitions--thresholds, gates, birth, and death. Powerful and beloved, she was the only Titan Zeus allowed to remain once her kind were overthrown. She prefers a solitary life, often seen walking alone during the dark of the moon, but also keeps the company of those on the fringe--the dispossessed, the underprivileged, and the dead. Leave an offering at the crossroads, mortal. Hekate may see your safe passage.

About the Barbie Goddess Series:

Why Barbie?
A decades long symbol of the American feminine ideal, a form of oppression, or a bit of harmless fun? Whatever your take on her, Barbie has a certain image. In this series I took pleasure in finding roles for her that are decidedly “un-Barbie-like.” Here she is fierce, or ugly, or wrathful, or dark, or shows a kind of femininity unlike the neutered sexuality of the iconic Barbie figure.  A couple aren't "goddess" figures per say, but are entwined in folklore and serve this role of the divine feminine in their own way.
