So, this brooch has a story. It's made from a fantastic wallet that I bought in the Marais, a historically Jewish area of Paris. I kept the wallet ooverfilled, and it fell apart after months of use. I couldn't bear to throw it away and decided to turn it into a big brooch.

The wallet itself seemed to have been made out of a laminated map of the Americas that denoted wind patterns, had descriptions in Hebrew, and an added printing of a native's head. The outside had a cool coating that is concentric circles (hence weird shine in first photo--coating is actually matte). The inside had a yellow coating.

I cut half the wallet into circles, and mounted them on some light pink felt. There's a nice big bar pin on the back.

Whoa, this brooch is unique. I might make another one with what's left, but it too will be one of a kind.
