Once the Buffalo Trace design has been burned into the top of the bourbon barrel head, we apply multiple coats of polyurethane.

In our designs we always use great and unique wood to show off the wood grain, and the back of the barrel stave you can see some of the remaining charring done 7 years ago by the master distillers using the same process and techniques as their predecessors going back more than Two centuries. IMPORTANT NOTE: We use real whiskey bourbon barrel heads to make our signs. Old and reclaimed barrel tops will have imperfections. They may have cracks, splits, smudges, stains and could have a slight curve due to these are not new barrel heads, these barrel heads are previously used on Kentucky Bourbon barrels.
