A beautiful antique, hand-coloured map of Venezuela, New Granada, Ecuador, and the Guayanas, from a very valuable atlas, issued by famous map publisher John Tallis around 1851. Adding to the appeal of the map are the exquisite borders and the hand-coloured outlines around various territories.

Aside from very detailed cartographical information, the map also offers delightful hand-coloured scenes.

John Tallis maps are highly sought after for their intricate ornamental borders and beautiful vignettes of local scenes. The finely engraved maps are hand-coloured and are visually stunning. It’s what many people imagine an old map to look like.

The map is blank on the back. Small tears, including one on the margin near the title, repaired with archival mending tissue. It is otherwise in good condition and is ready for framing.
