This, the 2nd quilt of the Freedom line -
I call this a 'Freedom Patch' in honor of the great folks long ago who patched from necessity. Who didn't have the luxury of time and new materials... Hard-working people who cobbled together any bits and pieces of old clothes and rags and somehow, some way, without meaning to managed to create a piece of Art. I've done my share of pattern-pieced quilts and I find this free-form style to be much more expressive & intuitive. Because there is no pattern, it can never be duplicated and will always remain one-of-a-kind!
Now for the details:
Quilt measures 7.5' square (fits nicely on a full or queen size bed), filled with a layer of 100% chemical-free needled cotton batting & backed with super-soft golden yellow fleece... with over 250 hand-tied tacks of sturdy brown carpet thread.
Fabrics used in the top:
flannel, linen, corduroy, cotton, cotton homespun, denim, embroidered denim, and a few cotton blends...
Colors run all over the rainbow, but the overall effect is rich and earthy.

Please feel free to convo me with any questions - Thank you so much for looking & supporting independent craftspeople!
