A smoothly frosted piece of OLIVE GREEN beach picked sea glass, hand gathered on remote beaches in the Pacific Northwest.

This particular green color usually comes from very OLD liquour and wine bottles, often from the early 1900s. It is quite different from the more common kelly green, which mostly comes from more recent beer bottles.

This larger piece has very smooth "soft" frosting and rounded edges, and is a rounded oblong shape for a pendant.

SIZE is: Just under 15\/16" (23mm) long by 1\/2" (13mm) across the widest part, and approximately 1\/4" (6mm) thick, at thickest. Photos show a couple of angles and one photo shows the piece with a US dime, for scale reference.

CONDITION is: "Jewelry A\/B+ Grade" (Rounded shape, all-over frosting, only the tiniest irregular spots, may have minor surface marks but no chips)-- nice piece in a less common color!

Reference number: E-10-0028

Authentic sea glass (or beach glass) is typically the result of glass-- including that from trash and actual garbage dumps-- being thrown into the ocean, getting broken, and then gradually being polished by the action of currents and waves, with sand, rocks and pebbles acting as a "polishing abrasive." It takes many years for a sharp piece of glass to turn into the soft-curved beach gems seaglass enthusiasts prize so highly. It is not unusual for me to pick up glass I can determine as having come from containers more than 100 years old.

To learn more about me, and the genuine beach combed sea glass I offer here on Etsy, please take a moment to read my "Profile" page.

Every lot of sea glass you purchase from me will include a small "story card," briefly describing what "natural sea glass" IS, as well as the approximate geographical origins of the piece(s) you received. Artists are more than welcome to copy the information from this card, and use it in their OWN sales presentation, when they come to sell their final creations. As you no doubt know, "romancing the art" does tend to make it more interesting to potential buyers.
