DONKEY "COME HERE" HALTER

For donkeys who need extra encouragement to move forward.

HOW IT WORKS:
*Applies pressure only to the poll (top of the head behind the ears).
*No pressure is applied to the nose or cheeks and head is not pulled out and forward.
*Donkeys tend to step forward to release the simple poll only pressure.

*Finally! A training halter for a calmer teaching experience! Traditional halters pull the head out and forward with pressure on both the nose and crown. This halter applies downward pressure just on the poll, inviting the donkey to calmly step forward.

*The “quick release from pressure” is perfect for halter training, learning to tie, reinforce keeping up with you while leading, trailer training, standing still, farrier day, ponying and more!

DETAILS:
Snap at throat (this is how you get it on and off)
Adjustable crown
Rolled throat latch
Rolled poll strap (flat poll strap available)
Adjustable chin not possible, sorry

HOW TO USE:
1) Open the throat latch snap.
2) Crown and rolled poll strap go behind the ears as one unit.
3) Adjust the rolled poll strap to lie between the ears and crown piece
4) Adjust the crown to fit as you would a traditional halter. You do not unbuckle the crown to put the halter on.
5) You can attach your lead rope to the O ring at the end of the 2 rolled poll straps under the chin to active the No Pull Feature or for a "regular halter" attach your lead rope to the O ring sewn to the halter.

SIZING:
* See our size chart in the pictures.
* We find that most donkey halter sizes correlate to their height (unlike horses). Please measure, this is a rough guideline!

XS (Small Mini) 3/4" width. Average mini under 34" including micos.
S (Larger Mini) 3/4" width. Larger minis over 34".
M (Ave Standard) 1" width. Most standard donkeys.
L (Large Standard) 1" width. Most larger standard-sized donkeys.
Mules: Probably not a good fit. Please see our horse version of this halter for a better fit!

* I recommend measuring a halter you currently have that fits well (or one that doesn’t and you add/subtract what you need to see if these will fit).
* These halters will not fit horses, they are just for donkeys!

HOW IT'S MADE:
I make each halter myself to ridiculously high standards on a beast of an industrial machine. With 10+ years in business and my alpaca, donkey and goat halters hitting #1 on Amazon for years, I got, well, burned out as a one woman show and needed to slow things down a bit. So here I am. Making FUN quality halters with a decade of successful halter making experience behind me. And yes, I can do these in horse sizes, just ask!

QUALITY:
* STRONG - I mean strong. No weak flimsy nylon or poly here. American material holds its shape yet is very soft on the horses face while being UV/H2O resistant. My suppliers sell the same material to white water rafting companies so you know it’s tough!
* STITCHING - important. Box stitched and reinforced at every end point with UV/H2O resistant industrial outdoor thread in complementary colors. A vast collection of 60+ colors of thread rivals my slightly out of control saddle pad collection. But hey, you get matchy matchy thread!
* VIBRANT COLORS! No weird “off” colors. The solid nylon colors are rich and bright. The polyester patterns are detailed and very clear, more of a smooth “photographic” look.
* HARDWARE - simply the best I could find. AND I found it at a small 3rd generation family run business who is kind enough to give this small woman owned business a price break so I can be competitive. Thanks guys!
* LABELS. Yep. Made in the USA. As are the bags and inserts. I do believe keeping it American is important and I hope you do too!

RETURNS:
Returns accepted within 30 days. Simply contact us for instructions (you pay shipping back).
Returns only accepted in BRAND NEW condition. Please be sure your donkey is clean before trying on. If we receive a dirty halter as a return you will only get a partial refund.
Returns are not resold so rest assured you will never receive a "used" halter. No fungus/icky/germ sharing here!

With a variety of show careers all over the USA in dressage, CDE (driving), western pleasure, roping, barrel racing, miniatures, extreme cowboy obstacles, working equitation, cutting and employed as a buyer for a major equine retailer and wholesaler, a sales rep for major horse lines and a barn manager for numerous high end training barns I have used these experiences to design what I think YOU - the very important client - wants in a halter.
