Guinness Is Good For You Playing Cards Set

A vintage mid-century double deck set of “Guinness Is Good For You” playing cards in classic black and red. Each deck contains its full complement of 52 cards, though there are no Jokers present. The original packaging has long since been lost, and the cards are now housed in an Embassy Playing Cards case, which accompanies the set.

The slogan itself belongs to the enduring legacy of the Guinness family and their brewing enterprise, founded by Arthur Guinness in Dublin in 1759. Across generations, the family became known not only for stout but for philanthropy. From restoring St Patrick’s Cathedral under Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness to the establishment of the Guinness Trust in 1890 by Edward Cecil Guinness, later known as Edward Cecil Guinness, their contributions extended to housing, education, and public amenities in both Dublin and London. Today that housing legacy continues under The Guinness Partnership.

Condition
The cards are in good vintage, played-with condition, with light fraying and gentle creasing consistent with age and use. The Embassy Playing Cards case is also in good vintage condition, showing signs of being nearly eighty years old. This is a genuine vintage set.
