Who is Movement Stories aimed at?

Movement Stories is currently aimed at children aged 2-9 years but can also be enjoyed by adults who would like to connect with the child in a creative way. Taking the time to engage in this audio story together builds connections and offers a creative outlet.

Where can I listen to a Movement Story?

Everywhere! Movement Stories can be enjoyed in your living room, bedroom, garden or in the park. It can also be used within a nursery or school setting. We do suggest you have a little floor space clear of objects so you can move freely!

How do I get started?

You simply download one of our stories and press play! It can be played from the phone or over a speaker. We then guide you through the story by telling parts of the story followed by simple movement instructions, which let you bring the story to life. Each story is carefully put together to ensure a wide range of movements. At the end of each story there is time for a wind down.

When do you use the stories?

Our stories can be enjoyed at any point throughout the day, however they are a great way to get rid of excess energy and are designed to leave participants feeling calm and relaxed. This means after a long day at nursery or school is a great time as well as a way to unwind before bedtime.

What are the benefits?

Can children enjoy the stories without support from adults?

Yes, children are guided through each section with clear instructions. Younger children might need support and inspiration by following an adults interpretation of the movements. This can create very special moments between adult and child.

Can the stories be used in nurseries and school settings?

Absolutely. In this case we suggest the staff listen to the story first in order to best support the children. For a big group of children it might be helpful to enjoy our audio story without talking until the end.

Are Movement Stories good Christmas presents?

All our stories let the participants use their creativity, imagination and movement, sending them on a little journey. In the run up to Christmas we think our Advent Calendar makes a wonderful gift! Daily stories, that can be listened to one by one or in a chain. Every day is set in a wintery atmosphere.
