This is a fabulous pale tourquoise antique pressed glass button which has aged with a lovely patina. When new this had brightly painted decoration imitating the micro mosaics so popular at the time.I think it might have been quite garish.
I think I prefer it as it is now with this softly aged patination.Around the edge is evidence of gilt paint. The paint generally has worn, but I do not think it detracts from a very unusual item that is in good vintage condition. It has a four way brass box shank at the rear, and measures approximately just under 1.50ins.

I think it dates to the late Victorian/Edwardian period. It would make an unusual addition to any collection; or vintage project.Featured in a vintage fashion team treasury;and the following blog

It comes from a non-smoking, pet free environment. Please check my terms and conditions before purchase.Shipping is non tracked First class Uk or Ordinary Airmail. Please contact me for tracked and EU prices .
