Description

Slab Roller Pottery Tool No Shims Heavy Duty Portable Tabletop Model Fully Adjustable

PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS FOR THIS SLAB ROLLER

This heavy duty table top Clay Slab Roller has an all steel frame and drive system with a moving table measuring 19 1/2" by 32". The usable work surface (and therefore the largest slab you could make) is about 17" by 25". It has independent gap adjusters covering a thickness range of 0 to over 1 inch, so no shims are required. Four complete turns on the adjusters produce about 1/4" thick slab of clay. Since the adjusters are independent you have the ability to make wedge shape slabs, if you like. This feature also makes it possible to emboss the clay surface right on the machine. This tabletop model is portable (overall dimensions 32"L x 24"W x 5.5"H not including the handle, and weighs about 35 lbs). It fits on a table as small as a 24"x 20" and can be easily stored on its side (using a small block of wood from the crating material) maximizing studio space.

Following is a link to a YouTube video showing it in operation (NOTE: The gap adjusters are knobs, not handles). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPEAvTH5ICo&feature=youtu.be

My wife, a potter, was making slabs with a rolling pin. After watching her struggle with this archaic method, I decided to design and build her one for Christmas in 2015. The design criteria were based on her experience with studio slab rollers, space constraints in her studio and my engineering background. The design we settled on is based on her experience with typical art studio slab rollers and my engineering background. The result is a heavy duty tabletop, slab roller with independent gap adjusters (no shims). My wife loved it so much that we decided to manufacture and sell them from our home shop in Southwest Florida, USA. Since then, we have sold over 350 slab rollers.

The $55 shipping price is for the lower 48 US states only. Please contact me for a shipping to AK, HI or Puerto Rico.

The slab roller is shipped via FedEx. Packaged it weighs about 40 lbs.

Benefits of the JT Designs Slab Roller:

- Heavy-duty design - all steel frame

- Portable - at 35 pounds it can be easily transported and it can be stored on its side saving precious studio space.

- Tabletop size - fits on a 20 x 24 table

- Adjustable gaps - makes it possible to emboss the clay surface right on the machine (unlike the shim type models). Can also produce wedge shaped profiles.

We stand behind the excellence of our products and strive for 100% customer satisfaction (see our slab roller reviews). If you have any issues or questions about your purchase, please contact us.

FAQs

Pottery is fragile. Although I pack everything very well, there are times when a piece will break as I have no control over what happens when the package leaves my hands. If you chose to ship First Class, there is no insurance for lost or damaged items, there are absolutely no refunds, If you chose to ship Priority Mail, or chose an insurance option, you must contact me within 72 hours of delivery and provide pictures of the damaged piece(s) and the box. If I am not notified within 72 hours of delivery, there will be no reimbursement, no exceptions.

Slab Rollers and Dough Sheeters are always shipped with insurance. I must be notified within 72 hours for shipping damages. If your machine isn't working properly, contact me immediately.
If you are purchasing this item for someone else, I am glad to include a gift card with the package. Just let me know when ordering what you would like the gift card to say.
For the smaller items, I give you two options, International First Class or International Priority Mail. With International First Class, there is no tracking or insurance. I highly recommend you also buy the International First Class Upgrade option for $13.95 which will give you tracking and indemnity up to $40. Without this upgrade, I am not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Please convo me if you have any questions.
If you are purchasing from the EU, I will follow the buyer protection laws.
Multiple Item Orders: I use calculated shipping on Etsy and I have found that too often, shipping charges are overstated for multiple item orders. I regularly refund over charges for shipping. If you want a better estimate before you order, please convo me with the exact pieces you want to purchase along with your exact address including zip code.

Large Items: Calculated shipping with Etsy uses USPS. For larger and heavier items, sometimes I can save you money using Fed Ex. If I can save you money with Fed Ex, I will ship Fed Ex and issue a refund to you of the over-charge for shipping.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs (to and from) for returns and exchanges.
Please Read before choosing the First Class shipping option. Since there is no tracking or insurance with the First Class shipping option, I am not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items. There are no exceptions.
