FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Does this work on a Mac?
A: Yes. Open with Microsoft Excel for Mac. Fully compatible with Excel 365 on Mac. Some advanced formula features require Excel 2019 or later.

Q: Can I use this on my phone or tablet?
A: You can view and make basic edits using the Microsoft Excel mobile app (iOS or Android). For the full Dashboard and formula experience, a desktop or laptop is recommended.

Q: Does this work in Google Sheets?
A: No. This file is built for Microsoft Excel only. Opening it in Google Sheets will break the formulas, conditional formatting, and Dashboard. Google Sheets is not supported.

Q: Can I edit any cell, even formula cells?
A: Yes — sheets are protected with no password. To unlock, go to Review > Unprotect Sheet on the tab you want to edit. Formula cells stay protected by default so you don't break them by accident, but there is zero password friction — unlock anytime. Visual guide: cream-tinted cells are for your data entry; sage-tinted cells contain formulas. If you delete a formula by mistake, close without saving and re-open, or re-download a fresh copy from your Etsy purchases.

Q: Can I share this with my siblings?
A: The license is single-user. Each family member who actively uses the workbook should purchase their own copy. One primary caregiver should own the file and share updates — not the file. Sharing the file is a license violation.

Q: Can I use this for both parents?
A: The workbook is designed for one parent per file. For a second parent, re-download a fresh copy from your Etsy purchases and set it up separately. Both copies can coexist on your device.

Q: I accidentally deleted a formula. What do I do?
A: Close the file without saving — File, then Close, then Do Not Save. Re-open and your formula will be back. If you already saved over it, re-download a fresh copy from your Etsy purchases.

Q: What is the difference between the two Field Notes PDFs?
A: The Fillable PDF has clickable text fields for desktop typing in Adobe Acrobat or Preview. The GoodNotes PDF has no form fields — a clean canvas for Apple Pencil handwriting on iPad. Import the GoodNotes version into GoodNotes 5 or 6 directly. Use the GoodNotes version in Notability as well.

Q: Is this just a tracker, or does it give me medical advice?
A: This is an organizational tool only. It helps you capture, organize, and access your parent's care information. It does not provide medical, legal, or financial advice. Always consult your parent's care team for medical decisions.

Q: Can I customize the tabs or add my own columns?
A: Yes — every sheet is editable. Sheets are protected with no password, so just go to Review > Unprotect Sheet on the tab you want to customize. Add columns, adjust layouts, change formulas, rename headers — the file is yours. We recommend saving a copy of the original first so you can compare if needed.
