Highlights
This is Emerson's Complete Works, "The Conduct of Life and Natural History of Intellect and Other Papers", as copyrighted by his son Edward Emerson in 1893 and again in 1921. It contains nine philosophical essays written by Ralph Waldo Emerson between the years of 1824 and 1860. This publication by Boston and New York Houghton Mifflin Co, The Riverside Press Cambridge was published in 1929 and has a cover page depicting the portrait of Thomas Carlyle, a Scottish philosopher and close friend to Ralph Waldo Emerson. It is considered a cornerstone of American philosophy, rather than a fictional narrative. A terrific read and definitely a collectible! An outstanding addition to any library! In good condition, with some wear and tear but no missing or torn pages. (Binding is in tact, but cover has pulled away in the center). Almost 100 years old!
