Dimensions

Height: 10 Inches; Width: 8 Inches

I created this show stopping piece in punch needle embroidery - after "Sight" - one of the six Lady and the Unicorn Tapestries. It features the seated lady, holding a mirror up in her right hand. The unicorn kneels on the ground, with his front legs in the lady's lap, from which he gazes at his reflection in the mirror. Peppered throughout are violets, forget me nots, white daisies and other flowers.

Each and every tiny loop was hand punched with love by me. The finest hand dyed embroidery floss is used in this design for depth. I even used metallic floss for the Lady's dress and headdress, and mirror where she shows the unicorn his reflection for the first time.

This design took me about 10 days of punching to finish, working on it at least 4 hours a day. It's a masterpiece you and yours will treasure forever.

From the interwebz: The Lady and the Unicorn (French: La Dame à la licorne) is the modern title given to a series of six tapestries woven in Flanders of wool and silk, from designs ("cartoons") drawn in Paris in the late fifteenth century. The suite, on display in the Musée du Moyen-Âge, is often considered one of the greatest works of art of the Middle Ages in Europe. (public domain! phew)

The punchneedle portion is 4.5" by 6.5".

Overall size of the sumptuous silver tone frame is 8" by 10". Can be hung on the wall, or will stand freely.

This item arrives in pretty eco-friendly packaging all set for gift giving! Give from the heart!
