Basalt is abundant in Washington State, often forming in striking hexagonal columns which are represented on the dial. Around Seattle, it can also be found in architectural details, including the fireplace in my own mid-century modern home. This watch was inspired by that connection: an enduring natural material that feels both ancient and modern, quietly woven into the design language of the Pacific Northwest.
