Country Church-John Jones-Signed print

This print celebrates the African American Church and its' influence

in the community. John Jones was born in 1950 in Columbia, S.C.

Jones’ goal as a fine artist is to paint the African American experience

starting with the slave trade in Africa, through the Middle Passage and

pre-civil war era, and contrast it with African Americans today.

His most acclaimed work was the “Confederate Currency: The Color of

Money” series which investigates the importance of slavery in the economy

of the South. He has worked on projects that focus on the story and history

of the Gullah people in South Carolina and African Americans in the Military.

Dimensions: 14" x 12" Framed

Condition: Excellent condition of print, a few scrapes on the frame
