A three-piece Damascene drum-form set — a pair of cylindrical upholstered stools and a matching drum side table, the walnut bodies inlaid with mother-of-pearl, sea shell and bone.
A charming three-piece Syrian drum-form set comprising a pair of cylindrical upholstered stools and an en-suite drum side table. Each barrel-shaped body is built of solid walnut and banded in the Damascene manner with inlaid mother-of-pearl, iridescent sea shell and finely cut bone in scrolling arabesques and blossoms, the elements outlined with drawn silver thread that glints against the warm walnut; the two stools are fitted with plain cushioned tops, the central table with an inlaid wooden top. This is a matched three-piece set — two drum stools and one drum table — conceived to be used and displayed together.

Hand-made by the workshops of The Orient Gates in Damascus. The cylindrical walnut bodies are hand-built and then inlaid with hand-cut mother-of-pearl, sea shell and bone tesserae set into the solid wood, the bands outlined with drawn silver thread in the traditional Syrian manner.
