This 150mm flat lap is powered by a 12V 200W motor with variable speed control from low up to 3000 RPM, giving you full control whether you're doing aggressive shaping or final high-speed polishing. The body and housing are 3D printed in durable filament, designed specifically to hold the motor securely and handle regular lapidary use. It comes with a 220–240V power adaptor fitted with an Australian plug and a 2.1mm DC barrel connector, so it's ready to plug in and use straight away for buyers in Australia, NZ, UK, and most of Europe.

Measuring just 176mm wide x 230mm deep x 125mm high (230mm high with the optional water container fitted), this compact desktop footprint makes it ideal for hobbyists, home studios, and small workshops where space is limited but you still want serious grinding and polishing power.

Each unit is individually printed, built, and tested by hand — no two are mass-produced, and I check every machine runs smoothly before it ships. Perfect for working with cabochons, slabs, beach glass, opal, agate, and other stones that need flat grinding and a mirror polish.

Disc compatibility: This machine is designed for 100mm, 125mm and 150mm diamond grinding and polishing discs/laps between 1mm and 2mm thick, and is supplied with fixing nuts in four common centre-hole sizes — 12.7mm (1/2"), 16mm, 20mm, and 22mm — so you can easily use discs from a wide range of brands without needing separate adaptors.

Splash control & cleanup: A removable splash guard helps contain water and slurry while you work, and lifts off easily for quick cleaning or when you need full access to swap discs.

Water management: A 1m flexible waste outlet hose is included, so you can direct slurry and runoff straight into a bucket or drain rather than letting it pool around your workspace — making cleanup quick and keeping your bench tidy.

Optional add-on available: A 1.5L water container with an adjustable outlet tap can be added at checkout (increases overall height to 230mm), giving you a controlled drip-feed of water onto the lap for cooling and dust suppression — combine this with the splash guard and included waste hose for a simple, contained water flow across your lap.

A note on the build: The frame and housing are 3D printed, which keeps the machine lightweight and lets me offer it at a more accessible price than fully metal-bodied units. Splashes and normal lapidary use are fine — just avoid prolonged direct water pooling on the printed parts and keep it on a stable, level surface.

Compatibility note: This unit is designed for 220–240V mains with an Australian (Type I) plug and uses a standard 2.1mm DC barrel jack for power input — so if you ever need a replacement adaptor or want to power it from another 12V source, this is a common, widely available connector size. Buyers outside the AU/NZ plug region will need a plug adaptor or step-down/up converter as appropriate.
