Highlights

There are over five billion books on earth, and you landed on this one; maybe you were meant to.

A rare and genuine date-stamped 1926 1st edition from the publisher, now 100 years old and very well preserved.

Please note: This is not a later redo from the 1940s, 1950s, 1970s, or 1990s, nor is it a softcover version. The later reissues may look the same, but they have small codes on the lower portion of the documentation page; finding a true 1926 is rather rare, and is the original manuscript. I must also mention that my photo lights are very bright, and the cover is slightly darker than the photo.

Discussed: spirituality, lost manuscripts, Mary Magdalene, the Lake of Fire, sorcerers, heaven and hell, the First Book of Adam and Eve, Secrets of Enoch, giants, alchemists, the soul, angels, the Last Judgment, the Heavenly Ascension, the apocryphal tales, the Golden Gates, the Ark, mysticism, ancient Egypt, good and evil, souls, the Gates of Paradise, minotaurs, the Evil City, the Well of Ice, elves, Solomon, Genesis, and much more.

Including a lavish collection of very rare wood engravings that date back centuries.
Translated directly from the ancient paintings and manuscripts, it includes 526 pages.

This is a rare, beautiful, and fascinating book that most people have never seen or even heard of; although I am not certain why, it is fascinating...You will find within the pages of this book all the writings of early Christian authorities known to exist, yet omitted from the authorized New Testament. When it comes to spiritual science and literature, this is a monumentally essential compendium. This particular version is unique in that it includes not only the Lost Books of the Bible but also the Forgotten Books of Eden. A beautiful and historically significant work. Considered by many to be one of the most important collections of apocryphal literature ever published.

"THE LOST BOOKS OF THE BIBLE BEING ALL THE GOSPELS, EPISTLES, AND OTHER PIECES NOW EXTANT ATTRIBUTED IN THE FIRST FOUR CENTURIES TO JESUS CHRIST, HIS APOSTLES, AND THEIR COMPANIONS NOT INCLUDED, BY ITS COMPILERS, IN THE AUTHORIZED NEW TESTAMENT; AND THE RECENTLY DISCOVERED SYRIAC MSS. OF PILATE'S LETTERS TO TIBERIUS, ETC. TRANSLATED FROM THE ORIGINAL TONGUES ILLUSTRATED FROM ANCIENT PAINTINGS AND MISSALS."

This is a collection of New Testament Apocrypha, including many works that were admired and read by early Christians but later excluded from the canonical Bible. It includes accounts of the young Jesus, particularly the Gospel of Mary and the Protevangelion, which provides additional folklore about the birth and youthful adventures of Jesus. Notable are the letters of Paul and Seneca, as well as the letters of Herod and Pilate, which are likely forgeries but add depth to the question of Jesus' historicity. There are also a number of non-canonical epistles, such as the Laodiceans. Also worth a close read are the three books of the Shepherd of Hermas, which use apocalyptic and symbolic imagery. This collection is an invaluable selection of New Testament passages that illustrate the fluid nature of the early Biblical canon. It provides access to all of the 'spare parts.'--J.B. Hare.

The overall condition of this book is very good, considering it was printed 100 years ago. There is some light shelf wear on the covers, but it is only aesthetic. The pages have natural age toning. This book is dated 1926 by the publisher; many later redos were dated 1926 but were followed by a publisher's code below, denoting later print years. This is the real 1926.
