This Stangl Lyric 8'' Bowl is hand-carved and hand-painted. The bowl has some scratches. There are no cracks but there is a small chip on the back as shown in picture 5.

Stangl Lyric was introduced in 1954 and was designed by Kay Hackett. The pattern was designed as free-form, a decorating motif that was gaining popularity in the late 1940's early 1950's. Kay has said that the inspiration for the design was an art class project her children had done.

Lyric was the first Stangl pattern to use the casual sugar, creamer, coffee server and coffee mug shapes. These shapes were designed by Ed Pettingil.
