Pretty and ornate silverplate basket. It has raised floral detailing in the center, ornate feet, lovely rim and handle.

This type of "basket" was used in Victorian times for either a bride or flower girl carrying flowers. Similar styles were also used for cake of fruit, though I think bowl might be slightly too deep for cake.

This piece measures approximately 9 1/2" diameter. The rim stands approximately 2 1/4" high, and the handle approximately 9" tall when extended.

Marked on the bottom: GATELY QUADRUPLE PLATE 88

Please note, this dish does show significant wear. It has many small wear spots throughout the bowl area. The entire dish has some warping and is lopsided. There is also some denting in the bowl area.
Please let me know if you have any questions - I tried to capture the flaws in the pictures, but they made be hard to see.
Thanks for looking!
